Seizing Opportunities in the Canadian
Labor Market
Canada’s economy consistently requires new workers, often with local candidates unable to fill all job vacancies. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) facilitates the entry of foreign workers to meet these demands, with a focus on those with Canadian work experience.
Foreign workers can obtain work permits through two main pathways:
Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)-supported job offers under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
LMIA-exempt job offers, which are categorized under specific conditions.
This pathway allows individuals to gain Canadian work experience, which can later help them qualify for programs like the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class, all of which are part of Express Entry or provincial nominee streams.
Work Permits and Pathways to Employment
Foreign nationals wishing to work in Canada temporarily need a work permit. The two main pathways for acquiring a work permit are the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and the International Mobility Program (IMP).
Under the TFWP, work permits are granted to individuals with a job offer from an employer who has obtained a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). The LMIA confirms there is no qualified Canadian worker available for the role.
The IMP allows foreign nationals to receive work permits without the need for an LMIA. Employers submit an offer through the employer portal, allowing foreign workers to fill roles in specific sectors that benefit the Canadian economy. Work permits can be employer-specific or open, offering flexibility in job opportunities across the country.
Immigration through work in Canada requires employer support. Our company partners with employers to advertise unfilled job vacancies on our social media platforms. You can also search for job opportunities independently on various job sites and social media channels.
To obtain a positive LMIA, your employer must meet financial requirements and demonstrate no suitable Canadian candidate. We assist with the application process to show how hiring you will benefit the Canadian economy, securing a full-time job offer.
We’ll guide you through the Work Permit application and help with Temporary Resident Visas, if necessary. If your family is accompanying you, we assist with permits for your spouse and children. For regulated jobs, we’ll help with provincial licensing and certification.
Once your Work Permit and documents are approved, you can travel to Canada. The border officer will issue your Work Permit upon arrival. Your goal is to gain Canadian work experience, as one year of employment makes you eligible for various immigration programs.
Once eligible for an immigration program, we’ll assist in preparing your Permanent Resident application. We’ll guide you to the best path, like the Canadian Experience Class or provincial streams. For provincial immigration, we’ll secure a nomination first before submitting your PR application.
This stage involves a thorough review of your application by the federal government to ensure it meets program requirements. You’ll undergo medical exams and background checks, including criminality and security assessments. The IRCC may request additional documents before making a final decision.
